Contract workers who won't be leaving Seven Mile Beach / George Town much often stick with an economy compact to keep the monthly rate minimal.

We quote long-term rentals directly — the standard daily rate drops roughly 20–30% at a weekly commitment and another 20–30% at a monthly commitment, so a full month lands around 40–55% below a comparable day-by-day spend. Seasonal demand moves the numbers (December through April is our busiest window), so the best quote comes from a direct call or a booking enquiry with your dates.

Grand Cayman drives on the LEFT (British-style) with the steering wheel on the right side of the vehicle. Most North American drivers adjust within 20–30 minutes, and for a long-term renter the adjustment becomes automatic after a few days. Speed limits are low (25–40 mph) and traffic is gentle outside the George Town rush hours. - Anything 30 days or longer. We book long-term rentals for snowbirds, contract workers, relocating families, students, and visitors on extended stays. Minimum commitment is one month; we can extend at any time.
- How much savings does a monthly rate offer vs. daily?
- Monthly rates run roughly 40–55% below our standard daily rate on a per-day basis. Weekly rates fall in between, at around 20–30% off daily. Exact savings depend on vehicle class and season — call or book online for a live quote.
- Can I swap vehicles during a long-term rental?
- Yes, subject to availability. If you start with a compact and realise you need an SUV for a Rum Point week, just let us know and we'll work out a swap. We'll only charge the day-rate difference for the swapped days.
- Does insurance work differently for long-term rentals?
- No — same coverage as our daily rentals. Basic third-party liability is included by law. CDW is available as a paid add-on; for 30+ day rentals, we offer a monthly CDW rate rather than per-day, which is a meaningful saving if you're adding it.
- What about maintenance during a long rental?
- Rodney's handles all scheduled maintenance — oil changes, tire rotations, anything the vehicle needs during your rental. You drop it off for a few hours or we swap you into a loaner while it's in the shop. No cost to you beyond the regular monthly rate.
- Can I register or insure the car in my own name?
- No. The vehicle stays registered and insured to Rodney's Car Rental throughout the rental. If you're relocating to Cayman permanently, we can point you to local dealerships that handle leases and sales.
- What about hotel delivery for long-term rentals?
- Free delivery to every major Grand Cayman hotel and island-wide condos, villas, and Airbnbs — same as our short-term rentals. Pickup and drop-off anywhere on Grand Cayman at the start and end of the rental.
